Congratulations to our friend and lanemate Frank Kriegler who completed his most recent circumference of Key West Last Saturday, June 17, by winning his age group and completing the 12.5 miles around Key West in 90° water in 5:35!
This high temperature level is an event stopper and is not recommended by most sanctioning bodies like USMS, USTA or Olympics but it is a known parameter with this event! Constant hydration, and keeping a comfy steady pace is key to surviving the heat, truly. Congratulations and well done to the Kriegler family crew of Tania, Abby and Joey!
Also, Saturday, we had a great group meet up at the Trailside Brewery in Hendersonville! Thanks to everyone that came out, we had at least 21 people there!
