Last Saturday the weekend got started at Lake Jocassee for the 10th annual Upstate Splash charitable swim event with one of the most gorgeous air and water days we’ve ever had, and they’ve all been good – even on a hurricane weekend years ago!

After we swam and while we snacked, drove away happy and pleased with our efforts then recovered and napped, Adrienne and Misty and their paddlers Lisa and Eve rallied and drove to Knoxville to swim 6.2 mile on Sunday morning in the Bridges to Bluffs adventure with a perfect water temperature of 77°, air temperature of 90° with the heat index of over 105°, and absolutely zero assisting river current this year! *Many pics below are from the Bridges to Bluffs website…

Adrienne crushed it Butterfly as usual while Lisa handled the paddling and feeding support.

Misty swam the same time this year without the current assist she had last year, meaning she was much stronger and faster than last year! Her friend Eve handled the feeding, hydration and paddling for her.

Congratulations to all the open water swimmers! Feeling very grateful for healthy bodies, gorgeous venues, safe travels and wonderful experiences and adventures!
