In our mountain town and the surrounding areas there are many ways to help out, as we all know.
Here’s what Adrienne Kramer is doing and a link to support those efforts below, in her words:
“Old Fort is one of the smaller areas of this region hit particularly hard by Hurricane Helene. The running and mountain bike communities have created ‘The Old Fort Endurance Festival‘ as a fundraiser to help the uninsured or not adequately insured with funds to rebuild.
“I signed up to do a 6-hour run on December 7th and I’m looking for contributions to this worthwhile cause. I did a half marathon on the trails of Old Fort in June and they were absolutely beautiful. I would love to donate my sweat and tears to help this town rebuild in the best way I know how – an endurance event!”

Check it out and sign up here to support Old Fort and Adrienne’s efforts!

Next, if you want to check out a fun conversation with Steve Bradshaw and his Appalachian Trail adventure, here’s a link and you can find it on most podcast platforms.

If link above doesn’t immediately take you to that podcast link just type in the essential words on your own podcast platform and you’ll find it.
Lastly, a new pump was installed at the Asheville School pool this week after it was destroyed during the hurricane, electrically speaking, and we’re hoping to hear back today about resuming our swim times.
Please look for another email later today well, hopefully we’ll have some good news for us here!
