Recent Montreat college graduate Christopher Serna completed his first full-length IronMan triathlon in Jacksonville last weekend and for all intents and purposes… Crushed it!! Full results seen here.

Christopher has only been swimming with our group for about 3-4 months or so, and his 2.4 mile swim (1:04:24 total time) with no wetsuit averaged a 1:34 / 100 meters which converts to about a 1:26 pace per 100-yards! Significant progress has been made!

His bike time was 5:09 and some change, averaging 21.6 mph the entire time for 112 miles through flat Jacksonville!

And he kept up the overall intensity by running a full 26.2 mile marathon in 3:15:43 for a total of 9:40:37 for 4th place in his age group and 31st place overall out of 1262 participants!

Well done, Christopher, your future looks bright in this sport for sure!
