Thank you all for coming to the 12th Annual Steve Barden Memorial Swimming Meet this past weekend in Asheville! We always seem to have a great time seeing everyone!
We’re so grateful to Lisa S. who gathered info and kept folks updated with emails and coordination of officials. Grateful to Colleen G., John G., Laura L. and Matt B. for making the meet official and handling the results, entries and timing system. Thanks to Frank K. and Lecky H. for getting all the equipment out and ready, and of course, the board for getting their punch list items taken care of and the meet together.
Many good swims were had, too, with meet records broken and a USMS National Record set, too, so a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Clarke (Mitch) Mitchell, 85 years young, who demolished the 85-89 yr old age group record for the 50-yard Backstroke with his astounding 38.24 effort !! He shaved 4 seconds off the record! Way to go, Mitch!
