Asheville Masters and other local swimming friends took to the open waters at Lake Fontana recently and swam well despite the heat!
Larry H., Craik D., Lisa K. & Adrienne K. all swam the 5,000-meter (3.1 miles) open water event in 84F water temps! See race results HERE!
Reports say Larry and Lisa’s swims both went well, Lisa was psyched to complete that distance, a first! – congratulations, that’s awesome.
Craik (now living in Chattanooga if you did not know that) reports feeling the best he’s ever felt in an open water event – fantastic! And an equally inspiring beard to boot!
Adrienne finessed her way to her longest butterfly event to date even as the arms were cramping. Both Lisa & Adrienne are prepping for a five-miler later this fall in St. Croix. Ask them for details!
Adrienne, Craik, Bill P. And John B. At finish of the inaugural Lake Fontana’s 5K, 10K and 15K open water event.
Congratulations racers! Way to stay hydrated!!
